The best things in life are worth waiting for
I was recently flipping through a file of story ideas I’ve been collecting since I started on this writing journey in 2018. The folder was a mix of typed sheets and handwritten notes, with bits of information I’ve tucked away. I was searching for some notes I’d taken about two years or so ago, during an online group chat with a Love Inspired editor. I wanted to refresh my memory as to the specifics editors were interested in (at the time anyway), for my new project I was sketching.
As I scanned the hastily handwritten notes, I spied one interesting piece of torn notebook paper. One name, scribbled in red beneath the word QUERY (yes, the printed letters were capitalized): Tamela Hancock Murray. I had to smile. God had planted her name in my heart, even way back then.
I’d found Tamela’s name in one of my many searches for agents, researched her background, and knew that someday when I was ready, she would get my query letter. I wanted to work with Tamela.
After much prayer, two years, several months, many emails, some book revisions (and new novels), one very exciting phone call, and a signed contract, I’m pleased to announce that my work is being represented by Tamela Hancock Murray of the Steve Laube Agency.
I feel incredibly blessed and humbled to be included amongst the roster of talented (and well-known!) authors they represent.
I’m so thankful my prayers were answered. And I’m so excited to work with my agent.
Commit thy works unto the LORD, And thy thoughts shall be established.
